Music and scent have a unique way of shaping how we experience a moment. Although they are perceived through different senses, both have the ability to evoke memories, create atmosphere, and bring people together. This shared philosophy became the starting point for the collaboration between Oaken Lab and Jazzy Sport.

Oaken Lab partnered with Tokyo-based record store and music collective Jazzy Sport to create a limited-edition flat-pack incense holder. Constructed from perforated metal, the holder arrives as a flat sheet that owners assemble themselves by bending it into shape. The process transforms a simple object into something personal—an experience that reflects the appreciation of craftsmanship shared by both brands.

Each incense holder comes with 10 sticks of Oaken Lab's Monko incense, allowing users to enjoy the ritual of scent immediately after assembling the piece. Produced in very limited quantities, the collaboration celebrates the intersection of thoughtful design, music culture, and everyday rituals.

At the heart of this collaboration is a mutual appreciation for slow, intentional experiences. While Jazzy Sport has long cultivated a community through music and vinyl culture, Oaken Lab approaches scent as a lifestyle that enriches daily life.

The project explores how fragrance and sound complement one another. Whether listening to a favorite record or lighting a stick of incense, both rituals invite us to slow down, be present, and appreciate the atmosphere around us.

The collaboration was celebrated at Oaken Lab's new flagship store in Ubud, Bali. Designed as more than a retail space, the store became a gathering place where guests could experience the collaboration through both scent and sound.
